Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms, moms to be, moms to "4 legged" kids, and those who are just waiting to be matched moms!! Andy and I both called our moms today to wish them a happy mom's day since we can't do it in person. I know we are both very thankful to have the wonderful loving and caring moms that we have! My mom is the one in the blue dress and Diana is in the other pic. The pics were taken on our wedding day.
I know at times when I was growing up, I thought my mom was trying to ruin my life..making me eat veggies, setting rules, giving me a curfew, making me do chores and made sure she knew where I was at all times. Hmmm...looking back, I'm so thankful that I had her for a mom. I know one of my favorite lines growing up was "When I have kids, I will never make my kids (insert whatever my complaint at the time was) like you're making me do. " Boy, did I have it rough..I had a mom who wouldn't let me watch inappropriate tv shows, made me get a good nights sleep, didn't let me run around like a wild child, taught me responsibility, and love me no matter how much attitude I gave her. Thank you Mom!!!!
I'm also very lucky to have such an amazing mother-in-law, Diana. I have heard so many mother-in-law(MIL) horror stories and have heard some of my friends talk about their MIL, that I always thought that I'd have a MIL that was just like the stories. WRONG!!! Diana is so sweet and so supportive! The first time I met her, she made me feel very comfortable and by the end of the evening, I knew that we'd get along great! Since then, my thoughts haven't changed! I feel really blessed to have Diana as a MIL!! She has raised Andy to be an amazing man and from the stories that he has told me, there is no doubt that she is amazing mom.
I talked to our casemanager this week and sent her Andy's most recent first aid/cpr cert. info. She said that she had re-submitted our final homestudy draft along with the whole file so she thinks we'll be approved very very soon. So....hopefully before the end of May. Ok, I'll be honest..to make me be really happy it would hopefully be sometime this week!!! At work, I have had several people tell me that they think we'll soon have a baby in our house. It's very cute and great to know that we have more people praying for us!
